‘Hunting with the Cheetah’ is a part of our ‘Murraqqa Collection’. Hunting was a royal sport from the ancient times. Mughal emperors went hunting with locally trapped cheetahs, who had already learned hunting skills from wild mothers, for assisting in royal hunts. Depiction of these hunts in the Mughal miniatures paintings was a matter of glory, valour and pride for them. ‘Murraqqa’ were patchwork albums of Mughal miniatures which gave us a spectacular glimpse of the imperial life of the Mughals. Our ‘Muraqqa’ collection, inspired by this art of mughal storytelling through its miniatures adapting motifs, patterns and structures in bright vibrant colours, retells them in a contemporary style.
Designed in Singapore, for illustrations on the cushions we use traditional, intricate and time-consuming drawing techniques. The durable cloth used for this cushion is a mix of satin and polyester that holds on to the colour pigments thus the bright colours never run. For every cushion the back colour and piping have been carefully chosen to compliment and enhance the print.Additional Information
